WHOM TO GIVE THANKS

This is a little reminder to whom we should give thanks for all we have. Everything belongs to God for He created everything including your life and all that you possess. It will all come to an understanding sometime in your future if it hasn’t already. May you have a great Thanksgiving Day and enjoy the day with loved ones for life is brief and there is no encore and give thanks where thanks is due. Jesus loves you and so do I.

Thanksgiving Poem

Thank God for everything!

Help spread thanks to others.

A time of thanks and a time for family and friends.

Never forgot what the Lord has provided unto us.

Knowing we are blessed by our Heavenly Father.

Serve each other with thanksgiving.

Give to one another.

I thank you God for all that you hath done for me.

Visit others and share a time of being thankful.

In everything we do God the thanks.

Now is the time to thank God, do it everyday for all things.

God be given the glory forever and ever. – Amen

Additional Information re: request for repost. Early last month I requested all my family, friends, and followers to repost a blog regarding a liver donor for Doug Battles. I learned that Doug just spent 4 weeks in the hospital with 2 weeks in ICU. As stated before that Doug has been on a waiting list for over a year. The donor requirements are that they must be between 18 and 55 years of age. They must be in perfect health. Doug’s blood type is O positive. Doug’s insurance pays for donor’s medical expenses. Additional information can be found on “Let’s find Doug Battles a Liver.’ Doug lives in Greenville, PA as does his family. My request is that you will repost this request and those that receive it repost it again and again. I believe that God has someone that will consider being a donor for Doug. May the Lord bless that person and I thank everyone for prayers and consideration of this request. May the Lord bless those that repost this request? Love to all. Dean Stuyvesant

REPOST

TO: All my family, friends and followers.

I’m asking for your assistance by reposting this request to everyone you know and they repost it in hopes of keeping it front and center. This request is for my dear Christian friends Roy and Pat Battles’ son Doug who is in need of a liver transplant. He has been waiting over a year for a donor. I realize the hesitation for people to come forth but I believe there is not any greater satisfaction than giving another human being a chance for life. The Battles reside in Greenville, PA

I pray that all that read this message will do what they can to help Doug. You can find additional information by looking at “Let’s find Doug Battles a Liver.’ There are many references on the internet as what is involved in being a donor.

I thank everyone for their time and assistance in this request. May the Lord bless you.

What Do You Know?

WHAT DO YOU KNOW?

Most people are going to answer this question with their intellectual being. They live from the neck up, a life of the mind. They will evaluate things based on what they think they know. They will evaluate themselves and others on what they think they know.

One of the main problems we have is that we don’t know what we don’t know. This covers a large area in anyone’s life. This is especially true in the Christian realm. There is not one human being that knows everything especially things related to our Heavenly Father. There may be some that think they know it all.

Even though God gave us a Book of Instructions, the Bible, the majority know very little about God, less about Jesus Christ, and less about the Holy Spirit. Look at what the following verse says in the New International Version and the Living Bible Version.

1 CORINTHIANS 8:2 NIV 2 The man who thinks he knows something does not yet know as he ought to know.

1 CORINTHIANS 8:2 LB 2 If anyone thinks he knows all the answers, he is just showing his ignorance.

As long as you are reading accurately what the Bible says (and that only comes through the leadership of the Holy Spirit) will you know the truth. One of the truths is that the Holy Spirit only resides in those who have received Jesus Christ as their Savior.

You must understand that the word “knowledge” in the Bible means to understand, recognize, and acknowledge something. In order to know something you need to perceive it and be aware of it. In the Scriptures, “knowledge” means to have a deeper appreciation of something or a relationship with someone. You cannot just know of God’s existence, you must learn how to appreciate Him and come to a personal relationship with Him. Have you ever thought about why God created you? He wants a family and He wants to be a Father to you. He wants that personal relationship with you just as you have with your earthly family.

I have questions for those reading this post. Do you know God or do you know about Him? Do you know Jesus or do you know about Him? Do you know the Holy Spirit or do you know about Him. To find the answer you must look deep inside yourself.

I know of Billy Graham, I know of George W. Bush, I know of Donald Trump but I do not know them because I do not have a personal relationship with them. So, I ask again, do you know God the Father, Jesus Christ the Son or the Holy Spirit. It is quite another thing to know them personally.

With a lot of people, they may attend Church, Sunday School, Youth Activities and Worship Services but their quest to know more about God ends there. Any further action requires a commitment to Him and that is where a major problem occurs.

People struggle with the aspects of the Christian life due to lack of knowledge, wrong information, laziness, apathy or anything that takes away from what they think is theirs. Perform a self-evaluation and ask yourself, do I know as much as I think I do? Are my evaluations correct? Am I using the right criteria? Do you see things as God sees them? Everyone has to make choices. We have to rely on what we know in making decisions or we can proceed with God helping us. You can trust God and know it is the truth or you can continue in the path of self-destruction. I still make mistakes when I rely on my own judgement as I’m not perfect. I do know without any doubt that when I trust God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit for their help, life is much better. Each day I draw closer to my Heavenly Father and someday I will join Him in His Kingdom. I hope to see many of you there.

One becomes wiser when we realize that we need God’s wisdom and guidance in all we do. Walk humbly before God and invite Him to guide you in all you do and enjoy His blessings. After all, He knows everything regardless of how small it may seem.

God loves you and He created you to know Him personally. We need to know that our faith is what continues our relationship with our Savior. Love to all.

THANK YOU!

Wants to wish everyone

I especially want to thank all the military personnel for their service in protecting our freedom at home and abroad. Also, I want to thank all the law enforcement officers for their service in protecting us on the local scene. I want to thank all the family members of both the military and law enforcement for their support of their loved ones who put their lives on the line every day for the citizens of this great country. A special thanks to those that have been wounded or gave the ultimate price for our freedom. I pray that the Lord will comfort all the families of both services during these difficult times and that He will protect you as you serve your country and local communities.

THANK YOU!

LOVE, JOY, AND PEACE TOO EVERYONE

WILLIAMS MAIL

I would like to share an email I received. I believe it would be an opportunity for the Christian Community to witness and show a young boy our love by sending him mail. May the Lord bless those who respond in His name. Thank you for your consideration.

Williams Mail

I have never done, or asked anything like this before, but I felt the need to. That need that comes from being a mom and wanting to do everything in your power to make your child happy. It seems like such a small thing but it is the few things that drive a mothers soul. The need to protect and the need to bring joy to your kids faces.

My son, William is 12 years old. He is an amazing kid. He rarely asks for much. He is full of love, joy and happiness. William is smart, funny and awesome. William also has Autism (severe) and is also non verbal. (he can not talk). During Christmas time (his absolute favorite time of the year) he always asks me for the things he wants, and they are always the same. He wants Mr.Sketch Markers, Copy Paper, Lays Regular Chips, and whatever Blu Ray is on his mind for his collection. (His “thing” is movies). He is the easiest and hardest to shop for. I am always looking for new things to add to the list but he usually is not interested and just wants what he wants.

This is where my request comes in. This year he asked for something new! I almost fell over when he added it to the box (his Christmas wish list box) and the new item is……….. MAIL! Mail. Mail. He LOVES getting mail. Half of our family lives in Northern Canada and the other half lives in Southern USA so he gets mail from family a couple times a year. I always knew he loved getting his mail but when he asked for it, I cried. I actually sat here and cried. Both happy and sad tears. Happy because he was expressing his wants and sad because of how I was going to figure out how to get him what he wants. He is such an amazing kid and he rarely wants for anything, I really want to make something special for him.

Let me tell you why I was sad. William has never had people come to his birthdays or has he been invited to any. No one asks William to come over for playdates or sleep overs. There are a small handful of kids in his class with needs of their own so I understand why. It is not anyone’s fault, it just is what it is. My family lives 1000 miles in one direction and my kids other family (fathers side) lives 1000 miles in the other so there is no family here for us. My teenage daughter is always out, socializing, hanging with friends and sometimes it just breaks my heart. I wish William had that too, but life has other plans for this amazing kid.

Many people assume since he can not talk that he does not understand. Well, let me tell you, this kid understands. He understands a lot. He understands too much. He just can not communicate the way we do, but he is sharp as a tack. He feels love and affection and I think he finds mail from others as affection. He carries around the last box that was sent to him. He covets the post cards. He wants me to read mail to him (even though he is an excellent reader) he wants to send mail. He LOVES mail and asks me for it now (the past couple weeks) multiple times a day. He writes MAIL on his drawings, he brings me the key to check the mail. I think he truly appreciate mail.

Now to my request. I have been racking my brains for a couple weeks. I want to make this year special for this most special boy. He has nothing but love in him and I want him to feel the love from others. If you want to help a kind soul this year, I am asking for strangers to send him mail. I want him to know the world loves and values him in a way that he understands and feels. I have been buying stamps and have been “creating” mail for Christmas. I have enlisted my small family (there is only a handful) to send mail to him for Christmas. I was hoping someone out there would want to sit down and send mail to William. He deserves to feel the love from the world like the rest of us do because he makes this world a better place. He deserves all the mail in the world according to me , but I am his mommy so I am bias.

I know, it may seem strange to ask strangers for mail but this is the only way I can think of to fulfill my sons Christmas wish. I am starting a page, and if people write letters to him on it, I will print the letters off and turn them into mail. If you feel inclined to send this amazing kid a piece of mail, I will save it until Christmas morning and when he wakes up, he will wake up to his beloved mail.

He loves his mail so much that his weekly treat is to visit the Post Office so he can get a Mail Box (a priority mail box) and when we get home he wants me to put Mail in it (usually just one of his BluRays) and he gets so happy to open it. He also carries around this Christmas USPS flier thingy they sent out a while ago with their Christmas stamps.

Please take the time to consider my request. It would mean the world to a very special young boy whose only real wish this year is to open MAIL It would mean the world to this Momma , William and his big sister Victoria too, we just want to make it a very special Christmas for a very special boy

DISCIPLINING CHILDREN

DISCIPLINING CHILDREN

What does the Bible say about the subject? I believe that God knows more about discipline that all of us put together. He is the original author. Some of us may think we know more.

The Bible teaches that physical discipline is appropriate, beneficial, and necessary. I want to make it clear that I am not talking about child abuse of which I do not condone.

When children left to themselves they will do what all people left to themselves in a fallen world will do.  They’ll make bad decisions that produce pain and turmoil in their lives and in the lives of others.

Discipline is evidence of love.

Some claim that physical discipline such as spanking is the only method the Bible supports. Others insist that “time-outs” and other punishments that do not involve physical discipline are far more effective.

Here are a few of the verses that refer to discipline in the Bible. It is a few of many.

Proverbs 22:6 Solomon said, “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it”

Proverbs 13:24; 23:13 The proverbial “rod” must be applied to prevent bad attitudes and acts from becoming habits.

Hebrews 12:11 (NKJV) 11 Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

Proverbs 15:32 (NKJV) 32 He who disdains instruction despises his own soul, But he who heeds rebuke gets understanding.

Discipline brings hope, life, peace and character to a child because it drives out foolish notions such as “The world revolves around me. I am the most important and I must have my way. No one else matters.” A lack of discipline wrongly teaches children that there are no consequences to their choices.

I look at the difference between my generation (1930’s) and today’s generation and I sadly see disrespect for others. During the time I mentioned, our society has gone downhill for what I believe is a lack of discipline and it has gotten worse as each generation passed by. All you have to do is read or watch the news.

I’m not saying that all children and young people belong in the above group. There are parents that still hold fast to discipline and you can see the difference. The major problem is that disciplined children have to contend with undisciplined children in many ways.

God gave us His instructions on discipline as outlined in the Bible. If we fail to heed His advice, then we must answer for our neglect. According to what I have read and understand, we will receive His discipline and then we will then know our misunderstanding of discipline. I don’t believe we will get a time out or other punishment in lieu of a spanking.

I would like to know what you think. May the Lord bless those that follow God’s Word.
